Bottega 1995 transformed: a new era of fine food and wine begins

Fine food and wine distributor Bottega 1995 has undergone a complete transformation, starting a fresh era for the one-stop shop.

A new chapter in Adelaide’s culinary scene is unfolding on King William Road: Bottega 1995. While ‘Bottega’ traditionally translates from Italian as ‘specialty shop’, the newly rebranded Bottega 1995 is shaping up to be so much more than that.

Previously called Bottega Rotolo, this Adelaide gem has undergone a complete transformation. Taking its new name from the year of its inception, 1995, the store promises to keep its commitment to quality, introducing Australians to exceptional fine foods and wines- with the passionate Andrea and Larissa at the helm.

Whether you’re in the mood for the world’s finest cheeses, pantry staples that elevate every meal, or a beautiful wine, Bottega 1995 has you covered as your one-stop shop.

Andrea, originally from Milan, met the Adelaide-native Larissa in 1999. Both their stories are drenched in Italian culture, with Larissa’s Italian roots influencing her culinary journey, and Andrea’s Milanese background bringing a rich tapestry of experiences.

From accomplished photographer to professional drummer and roller skating champion by the time he hit his twenties, Andrea’s vibrant past eventually steered him to sales and marketing.

Larissa has always been passionate about Italian culture and learned how to cook through the traditions of her Nonna and mother. She worked in construction and business management, with Italian traditions always at her heart.

Together, with Andrea and Larissa’s combined expertise in business, complimenting professional attributes and love of Italian food, wine and culture, it was a natural progression when the opportunity arose to take over the business.

The duo has envisioned a future where Bottega 1995 expands to a broader market of retailers, restaurants and consumers. Beyond offering a palette of luxurious products, they are keen to blend taste with knowledge, educating younger generations on the history of the artisan products they import.

“We are committed to providing a high standard of product which we believe goes hand in hand with education – teaching our customers and those passionate about food,” Andrea says.

Producers that build the extensive portfolio of Bottega 1995 include Ortiz, Delicius, Acetaia Leonardi, Maestri, Rustichella, Tartufi Mora, Vannella, Pino’s Dolce Vita and many European artisan cheese producers.

Particularly noteworthy is their cheese-importing process: each month, Bottega 1995 order from both the French and Italian Alps, and the cheeses are transported through temperature-controlled air freight within a few days from the Alps to your table.

The store houses some of the Bottega 1995’s key brands with the collection of products continuously expanding to bring the best fine foods from across the world to their Adelaide store. These are often inspired by trips to Europe where Andrea and Larissa hand select new products to bring home.

Bottega 1995 will continue its legacy through its longstanding producers as one of the leading fine food and wine distributors in Australia but with a fresh take. A blend of tradition and innovation – the history of Bottega’s producers and products are embraced through education and celebration with great potential to introduce new products and artisan practices.
