This Friday May 28 you can feel good about enjoying a burger from either the Hello Harry Hindley Street or Glenelg stores, with $1 from all burger sales directed to the Hutt Street Homeless Centre.
Franchise owner Scott Young said each of the eleven national Hello Harry The Burger Joint franchises had the option of choosing their favourite charity to support and the Hutt Street Homeless Centre was their standout.
“Each year Hutt St Centre serves up to 40,000 meals and offers social work and support services to nearly 2,000 people and with winter fast approaching important funds raised will ensure essential services such as showers, laundry facilities, visiting health professionals, recreation activities, education and training, legal aid and assistance with finding housing as well as an aged city living program for older clients can continue,” he says.
“These are are all services provided by the Hutt Street Homeless Centre for up to 200 people experiencing homelessness each day. It’s a phenomenal charity and they deserve our support.
“International Burger Day is an event we like to celebrate each year and adding a fundraising element enables the whole community to support a great cause while enjoying a high quality burger.”
Hello Harry sell around 35,000 burgers in each of their eleven national stores every year, with beef burgers making up over 60% of sales followed by the Southern Fried Chicken. There is also, however, a growing trend towards meat free and vegetarian options, and everyone is catered for at Hello Harry.
This support for the Hutt Street Centre comes at a much needed time for the lifeline organisation following announcements earlier this month of a cut to government funding.
Customers can support Hutt Street Centre for Homeless at Hello Harry Hindley Street or Glenelg stores from 11.30am until late this Friday May 28th.
Hello Harry Hindley Street is located at corner of King William and, Hindley St, Adelaide SA 5000.
