If you’re keen on a relaxed day out with top-notch wine and food, mark your calendars for the Grenache & Gourmet event at Lloyd Brothers this October long weekend.
On the back of a highly successful event in 2022, Lloyd Brothers is bringing back this crowd-favourite event on Sunday 1st October.
So what can you expect?
First up, the wines. You’ll get a chance to sample the new 2023 Lloyd Brothers Estate Nouveau Grenache Shiraz. If rosé is more your style, they’re launching the 2023 Hills and Coast Grenache-based Rosé. And for something a bit different, they’re introducing a rare Rhone white wine, the 2023 Estate Picpoul. Pair it with freshly shucked Coffin Bay oysters, and you’re in for a treat.
But it’s not all about the wine. Foodies will appreciate Callum Hann’s signature lamb ragu dish. And if you’re vegetarian or vegan, they’ve got you covered – just give them a heads up when you book.
For entertainment, the Funk Bros will be on deck with some vinyl tunes. It’s the kind of laid-back music that fits perfectly with the vibe of a Sunday afternoon in wine country.
Thinking about how to get there? Lloyd Brothers has sorted a bus service from the Warradale Hotel for $40 return. It leaves the Warradale at 12 noon and gets you back by around 5.15 pm. It’s a hassle-free way to enjoy the day without worrying about the drive.
Your ticket gets you in, covers your meal, and hands you a Lloyd Brothers branded wine glass (which you get to keep). Plus, your first glass of wine is on the house. If you’re not in the mood for wine all day, they’ve also got Goodiesons beer and cider.
Sitting on the banks of a stunning lake with its famed, purpose-built barrel hall, a visit to the Lloyd Brothers Estate is one that will stay etched in your memory for years to come. The hall itself is a popular site for weddings and events in the area and one look inside will speak volumes as to why.
