After building a loyal following for its colourful brunch plates and specialty coffee, Yolk Cafe is expanding beyond its original home and cracking open a second location in Brooklyn Park this month.

For brunch lovers, there’s always room for another local favourite, and the new venue promises everything regulars have come to love from Yolk.

Founder, Zac Mucklow said the Brooklyn Park venue will feature the same light, airy and modern aesthetic customers are familiar with, complete with warm timber accents, but with a twist. He described the new location as Yolk’s “slightly moodier” sister, thanks to its home inside a heritage building.

The new space has been designed to cater for everything from quick coffee catch-ups to long weekend brunches with family and friends. It features booth seating for groups of up to 16 people, a private dining room for functions and bottomless brunches, and a main dining room that can seat up to 40 guests.

At the heart of the venue will be an open kitchen, giving diners a front-row seat to the action.

“It’s chefs, baristas and bartenders all in the same area working in tandem, so you can watch it all happen over an open kitchen,” explained Zac.

The expansion also gives the team an opportunity to debut new menu items alongside the dishes that have helped build Yolk’s reputation across Adelaide. Rather than simply replicating the original menu, Zac said customers can expect three or four new dishes to be introduced when the venue opens.

“Including a yolk jammy egg … we’re really bringing the yolk to Brooklyn Park,” shared Zac.

Since arriving on Adelaide’s brunch scene, Yolk Cafe has built a loyal following, serving colourful, produce-driven meals and specialty coffee seven days a week to brunch lovers from across SA. Think frothy strawberry matcha and popcorn iced lattes, complimenting hearty brunch classics like fresh smashed avocado and gooey eggs benny.

Zac said the Brooklyn Park location’s phone line was one of the first things to be set up and is already ringing off the hook, with locals eager to secure their booking in the new space.

With the finishing touches now underway, he is confident the new Brooklyn Park location will welcome its first customers from 24 July.

“There’s been a lot of excitement and a lot of people ducking their heads in for a sneak peek.”

When: 24th of July
Where: 108 Marion Rd, Brooklyn Park SA 5032
