The d’Arenberg Cube is a five-level sensory journey inspired by the complexities and puzzles of winemaking.
Since 1912 the Osborn family have tended vineyards in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Today fourth generation family member Chester makes distinctive wines using traditional methods both in the vineyard and the winery. From entry level to iconic, d’Arenberg wines are basket pressed with red wines placed in small batch open fermenters and foot trod. Known for an eclectic portfolio of oddly named wines and a bold red stripe that adorns each bottle, the range is considerable with over 80 wines and 37 grape varieties with styles that include white, red, fortified, sparkling and dessert. In 2017, construction was completed on the d’Arenberg Cube. Inspired by the complexities and puzzles of winemaking, Chester created a five-story building modelled on the world’s most iconic puzzle – the Rubik’s Cube. Each of the five levels have been carefully designed to entice and excite the senses, including the d’Arenberg Cube’s South-East Asian inspired restaurant Singapore Circus, The Salvador Dali Exhibition and Sale, the Alternate Realities Museum with a 360 degree video room, virtual fermenter and sensory room, as well as wine experiences that challenge convention.

Situated in the picturesque Adelaide Hills on an ancient 1.7-billion-year-old plateau on some of the oldest soils in the world, the breathtaking panoramic views over the vineyards at Paracombe Wines are truly a sight to behold.
Family owned, Paracombe’s story started in 1983, after the tragic Ash Wednesday bushfires when founders Paul and Kathy Drogemuller bought a burnt-out former dairy farm in the Adelaide Hills. Despite having no background or experience in winemaking or grape growing, the pair planted a vineyard and started making wine with a second-hand crusher, milk tanks and a homemade basket press, launching their first wines in 1992.
From there the journey’s been amazing and now shared by second generation Ben, Sarah and a small team who all care deeply about the environment, sustainably growing and making wine that honours story and place.

With the introduction of prohibition in 1920, a shadowy, underground industry sprang into existence, to give the people what they wanted most. Gin was the liquor of choice, produced by clandestine, bootleg spirit makers. One hundred years later, their spirit lives on at Prohibition Liquor Co. But while their small batch craftsmanship may echo that of the bootleggers, the artisan philosophy and obsession with only the world’s finest botanicals result in an altogether more sophisticated and premium range of gins.
Prohibition Liquor Co was created in 2015, by a couple of Adelaide lads, in the backyard, with a dream to create a world class neat-drinking gin. Fast forward to 2017, and with a move into the city, the beautiful copper still ‘Mary’ was commissioned to distil their artisan small-batch spirits on-site.
Open Wednesday to Sunday, 11.30am to late.
