Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market is a not-for-profit organisation. When you shop at the market you support small family farms, agricultural diversity and fresh, seasonal food. The vibrant weekly market sees farmers bring seasonal produce to sell directly to you. It’s South Australia’s largest farmers’ market, with around 6,000 visitors each Sunday. At the market the people selling the food are the people who grew it, baked it or made it. Stallholders’ farms are inspected to ensure they meet rigorous market standards. From apples to zucchini, everything is South Australian grown.

Coriole was started by my family in the 1960s. It is a beautiful spot looking south towards many McLaren Vale vineyards, the old Willunga Range and the Fleurieu Bight. The estate has a lot of Shiraz vines, the oldest planted in 1919. They also have  had great interest in finding new and exciting varieties for the Australian table, starting with the Sangiovese vineyard planted in 1985, the Fiano vineyard (2001) and the Piquepoul vineyard planted in 2010, all three varieties pioneered in Australia by Coriole.

Full Description:

For as long as I can remember, it has always been a dream of mine to open my own little cafe. I was born in Naples, Italy, so food, wine, people and family were an everyday affair and it was always as I describe it like “the theatre of food”. Where each and every meal was made with love and everyone would come together to eat, talk, laugh and share the givings of the day. So it’s in my blood and I am so glad that it is.

Luigi’s to me, is an extension of my home and my customers are an extension of my family – I am honoured every time somebody walks through our doors.

I believe in offering not just amazing food and coffee but first class service with a smile and genuinely caring our customers.

Enjoy and buon appetito!

Luigi.

Full Description:

Never Never Distilling Co. is here to start a juniper revolution, making some of the boldest, juniper-forward gins in the world and being fearless in everything they do. Never Never embraces the Australian spirit of adventure and the journey into the unknown. It’s been a part of the Australian vernacular since the late 19th century and is still used to describe some of the most remote parts of Australia. Never Never Distilling Co. was founded by three people with a passion for flavour and the skills to grow a global gin business. Our mantra of “Fearless Spirit” is inspired by the actions of our peers in the industry.

They celebrate the star chasers and the wonder seekers, those who are never content to accept the status quo. Like those who have journeyed into the unknown of this great land, they too search for places beyond the horizon, and let flavour guide us there. This is our journey and they invite you to join them on this adventure.

Paxton Wines
Description:

Internationally recognised as one of Australia’s leading wine regions, McLaren Vale is renowned for the production of super premium quality wines – particularly red wines.

Category:
Full Description:

Paxton are leaders in both organic and biodynamic viticulture and winemaking. Fruit for all wines are sourced solely from estate vineyards in McLaren Vale, South Australia.

Established in 1979, Paxton is a family owned wine company. Founder and owner, David Paxton is one of Australia’s most highly respected viticulturalists – a reputation built on managing and growing wine grapes of exceptional quality for over 30 years.

The Paxton family have nurtured their own vineyards in McLaren Vale for three decades. Internationally recognised as one of Australia’s leading wine regions, McLaren Vale is renowned for the production of super premium quality wines – particularly red wines.

In 2000 the family released their first wine under the PAXTON label: the 1998 Paxton Shiraz. Today, under the direction and guidance of consultant winemaker Kate Goodman and winemaker Ashleigh Seymour,  Paxton produces a range of estate grown wines under the family label.

The Paxton wine range is an approachable collection of wines that showcase McLaren Vale’s fruit quality (through Paxton’s superior vineyard sites), natural diversity and varietal expression. In the winery, minimal winemaking intervention ensures the integrity of the fruit from vineyard to bottle.

Paxton vineyards are spread across a diverse number of sites and soil types, which are managed without compromise from planting to harvest. David Paxton continues to strive to minimise inputs and manages the Paxton vineyards biodynamically – a system of farming without the use of synthetic fertilisers and pesticides with a focus on promoting healthy, living soils through the use of natural compost preparation.

In 2011 Paxton became a fully certified organic and biodynamic wine producer.

In 2005 Paxton opened their cellar door at Landcross Farm, a historic 1860s sheep farm and site of the original village. The cellar door is open everyday from 10am-5pm for tastings, functions and events.
