Enjoy Christmas shopping by the sea at the Stansbury Christmas Seaside Markets

The Stansbury Christmas Markets are happening this month, a great opportunity to do some Christmas shopping while enjoying a seaside getaway.

As the festive season draws near, the countdown is on for Christmas shopping, which can be a stressful and busy time of year for many. So, why not take a trip to the Yorke Peninsula for the Stansbury Christmas Seaside Markets to enjoy some relaxing Christmas shopping by the sea?

Taking place on the picturesque Stansbury foreshore and held exactly one month before Christmas Day on November 25th, these markets are a delightful way to get into the holiday mood.

Even if you’ve already done your Christmas shopping, why not head on down to pick up a few extra gifts for your loved ones (or, even treat yourself!) at the last Stansbury Seaside Markets before New Year’s Eve.

The market will be jam-packed with more than 70 stallholders, including some familiar faces and many exciting newcomers. And what’s more, as you shop for gifts and treats, you’ll also be supporting the Stansbury community.

The variety of stalls is vast with something for everyone, ranging from local produce, cupcakes, jams, preserves, and fresh fruits and veggies to clothing, books, candles, homemade crafts, and even plants and garden items. You can find unique and thoughtful gifts that you won’t discover anywhere else.

The market offers the perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the holiday rush and enjoy a relaxing weekend by the sea. You can even pack a picnic and enjoy the warm weather while the kids have a blast on the nearby playground.

Need a caffeine fix? Coffee will be readily available, and for those craving a hearty breakfast, the local Stansbury Museum volunteers will be grilling up delicious bacon and egg rolls and sausages. And don’t forget to grab a Lions Club donut while you’re there- covered in cinnamon sugar goodness, they’re simply delicious.

“Stansbury loves hosting the markets, we really welcome all the visitors and wider local community who come over and support the markets. All the stallholders really love seeing everybody and look forward to the markets throughout the season,” Stansbury Progress Association Business Manager Carley Crouch says.

“The market has grown over the last few years and has a big following now. It is the biggest market in this area and it brings people into the town, it’s good for the local businesses and all the local accommodation providers as well.”

“We need people to support the local stallholders because they need to be able to make their hobbies or businesses continue to be viable.”

“People can come out and make a day of it, they are going to be in fro a great day, it’s a beautiful location, hopefully the weather will be lovely, there’s lots of see and do. Come and make a weekend of it, stay and enjoy it.”

If you can’t make it to the Christmas markets, be sure to pop the New Years Eve markets into your calendar, when there will be a morning market along with a twilight market.

The twilight market will have more of a foodie focus and will be open from 5pm until 8pm before the skies light up with colour with a fireworks display at around 9:15.
