Owners Isabelle and Dieter Linde purchased the large block at Blewitt Springs eight years ago, with plans to build a house to escape to and eventually retire in amongst the vines.

It wasn’t until many years and three kids later that they saw the other potential in the property.

“When we had the kids, we’d spend hours running around the property and playing hide and seek. And one day our eldest, who’s seven now, said ‘we’re so lucky to have this beautiful space, we should let people be able to come and camp here’,” said Isabelle.

“After a family discussion we decided to share the beauty with other people. So we really just bought a bell tent and put it up on the property, and it’s just grown quickly from there.”

The first two tents went in 18 months ago, and they’ve just added two more.

The spacious tents sleep two in a plush queen size bed, but there’s plenty of room if you also want to take the kids or a friend. They’ll allow two extra people stay for an additional $10 each a night – they’ll get to bunk down on air mattresses for the night.

As well as being fitted with luxe furnishings and a board game for some offline-fun, each tent has its own private portable toilet and outdoor shower.

In winter, each tent also has its own firepit, which you can cook your own dinner over (they’ll even supply the marshmallows).

They all boast stunning views across the natural landscape and vines, and the tents are spread far enough apart that you’ll feel like you’re the only ones there (it’s at least a 200 metre walk to your closest neighbours).

Isabelle said Tent On A Hill is the perfect getaway for if you want to get out in nature, but don’t want to have to bring all your own things.

“They can just rock up with their bottle of wine and their overnight bag, then just sit down and relax and watch the resident kangaroos and it’s all there,” she said.
