Tasting Australia is all about discovering deliciously different experiences and indulging in rich South Australian food and wine. If you’re planning to immerse yourself in the culinary delights of Tasting Australia, be sure to check out La Boca Bar and Grill’s Nose to Tail Lamb Degustation and Wine Pairing.

La Boca is an authentic Argentinean restaurant, providing the full Asador experience with mouth-watering smoky grill flavours. In other words, they know their meat.

This May, La Boca is blending Argentina and Kangaroo Island together to showcase the Island’s world-class produce and brands. Kangaroo Island lamb will be cut and slow cooked the Argentinean way – spicy, delightful, and prepared to melt-in-your-mouth.

The luxurious five-course degustation will begin with Lamb carpaccio, served with marinated goat’s cheese and pickles. Carpaccio is traditionally an Italian-style dish of thinly sliced or pounded meat, served raw as an appetiser. The saltiest of the pickles paired with the soft, tangy goat’s cheese is sure to be a party in your mouth – and that’s just the beginning.

Next up is lamb and lentil potage, with lamb chorizo and sourdough. Dipping a slice of crunchy sourdough into this spicy, thickened soup sounds like the perfect remedy for May’s colder, Autumn weather.

Your third degustation course will be a house dry-aged spiced lamb loin with fennel and apple salsa. This will be followed closely by a Parrilla-grilled lamb rack, with truffle Au jus, roasted pumpkin, cumin, and kale.

Finish your culinary journey with a moist chocolate cake, coupled with orange Diplomat cream, honey gelato and candied ginger crumbs. You had us at chocolate cake!

It’s clear that La Boca will not only be transporting your tastebuds to the tasty far-away land of Argentina – it will also be allowing you to appreciate and savour local delights too.

Each course will be paired with wines sourced from The Islander Estate Vineyards. Boasting 11 hectares of vineyards in the Kohinoor Hills, Founder and fifth generation winemaker Jacques Lurton produces his favourite varieties he’s grown around the world.

In the perfect cool-climate viticultural conditions of Kangaroo Island, the Bordeaux native winemaker creates varieties of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Sangiovese, Shiraz, Grenache, Viognier, and Semillon.

While many of these “under-dog” varieties are avoided in Bordeaux, they thrive in Kangaroo Island, producing elegant, medium-bodied wines, with spicier and earthier flavours. These rich, natural flavours will pair wonderfully with the menu La Boca has prepared.

La Boca Bar and Grill’s Nose to Tail Lamb Degustation and Wine Pairing will be hosted on Thursday 5 May 2022, from 6pm – 9:30pm. The event can cater to coeliac and dairy free dietary requirements – just contact the event organiser in advance prior to purchasing.

Tickets are $95 per person and can be purchased here.

You can find La Boca Bar and Grill at 150 North Terrace, Adelaide 5000.
