After much anticipation, Festival Plaza will roar to life this weekend from Friday 11th of March with an exciting and diverse program of entertainment, including live music, interactive art, food and drinks.

The new Festival Plaza has been completely redesigned, revamped and is ready to delight with Festival Plaza presents – an initial six-week program of day and evening entertainment for everyone.

Whether you’re travelling through Festival Plaza on your way to work, wandering by on your way to the footy, or looking for a nice open space to enjoy a few drinks with friends or family this long weekend – Festival Plaza is the place you want to be.

With something for everyone, Festival Plaza invites Adelaide to stop by during the day for family-friendly games across the plaza with Festival Plaza presents Parlour Games.

While you’re there keep a lookout for Festival Plaza presents Cameo Performers – a team of roving performers who are ready to surprise and delight when you least expect it!

Enjoy the soothing sounds of Adelaide’s best acoustic performers with Festival Plaza presents SA Solo Sets or plan for an afternoon in the sun and the sounds of South Australian DJs with Festival Plaza presents Plaza DJs.

Ever wanted to be part of an artwork? Immerse yourself in Festival Plaza presents Screentime, a giant digital art installation by local artists in which you can interact with and become part of the artwork. With a range of interactive elements, you’ll never know how you’ll warp, wrap or twist on the big screen! And when it’s not blowing your mind with digital sorcery, the screen will keep you entertained as you relax across the plaza.

Take in refurbished original artworks by Owen Broughton, Tony Rosella and Bert Flugeman across the plaza as you walk through and stop by the Festival Plaza presents Goodie Goodie cafe for all your coffee, snacks and cold drink desires.

Bringing the kids along? Why not take a seat water-side at Festival Plaza presents Water Play – a 20-metre long water feature which switches between misting and pooling features, allowing kids to play safely in the water display. It’s the perfect spot to sit and watch as kids and adults alike cool off and play in this mesmerising feature. Don’t be afraid to get a little wet – we’ll have a towel service on-site for your comfort.

As the sun sets on Festival Plaza on weekends, entertainment will continue throughout the afternoon with DJs playing from the Festival Plaza stage from 6pm. The bespoke Arbour Bar will serve South Australia’s best local beers and wines from under the architecturally stunning arbours. And make sure you extend your stay, as The Plaza water feature comes to life at night, showing off its lighting features against the immersive mist.

No matter what day or time you come, the new Festival Plaza offers plenty of places to sit on the grass, pull up a chair or simply walk around and take in Adelaide’s new heart of entertainment.

Come for the art and games and stay for a tipple or two at the Arbour Bar this weekend to celebrate the opening of Festival Plaza.
