A new cafe is breathing fresh life into a familiar Royston Park site, with Go-Ssip bringing an all-day menu of modern Australian favourites, creative drinks and plenty of dishes with a twist.
The cafe is the latest venture from the team behind Faar Farr Away, which they took over in November. While the two businesses share an owner, Go-Ssip is intended to have a distinctly different identity.
“We’re modern Australian, but a bit of fusion from here and there,” the owner said.

That approach can be seen across the opening menu, which combines familiar cafe staples with new flavours. There’s a truffle corn cheese omelette, pulled beef scramble, alongside bagels and generous salad bowls.
One of the standout dishes is the chicken tikka Benedict, which puts an Indian spin on the classic eggs Benedict. The dish is inspired by the owner’s background combined with a more traditional Australian brunch offering.
For something more indulgent, Go-Ssip’s signature sizzling cheeseburger is served on a sizzler with a beef patty, cheese sauce, pickles, lettuce, tomato, caramelised onions and Go-Ssip’s signature burger sauce.

“We have a lot of vegan options and a lot of gluten-free options as well,” Sam said. “We’re considering each and every customer.”
Sweet dishes are another focus, with three pancake options consisting of Biscoff, berry cheesecake, and pistachio kunafa, plus a creative drinks menu including a Biscoff caramel latte, Earl Grey pistachio latte, and a Matcha Blanc.
The location itself is another reason the owners are excited about the opening. The cafe occupies the former Royston Park Cafe site, which later operated as Marabella, and has been sitting vacant.

According to the owner, local residents have already been stopping by while work is underway to tell the team they are excited to see a cafe return to the site.
“They say we definitely needed something here,” Sam said.
The new cafe will offer a much broader breakfast and brunch menu than previous businesses at the location, with burgers, bagels, pancakes, salads and classic breakfast dishes all available.

For now, the team is concentrating on getting the opening menu right rather than trying to do everything at once. Sam said that pasta dishes are among the possibilities for the future, depending on how customers respond to the initial offering.
And Go-Ssip is unlikely to be the final venture for the team. Sam said expansion is very much part of the long-term vision, having already explored additional locations after taking over Faar Farr Away.
