In case you missed the giant line snaking down Gouger Street or the pink mugs clutched in almost every hand, viral milk tea brand Molly Tea has officially opened its doors in Adelaide.
Adelaide’s CBD got a little more pink last week as the international sensation welcomed hundreds of heart-eyed tea lovers over the weekend. Eager locals swarmed to the venue, clamouring to get their hands on the limited edition, Adelaide exclusive, pink mug reserved for the first 200 customers, giving them a piece of the jasmine-scented world to take home. And if that wasn’t enticing enough, the brand offered a buy one, get one free deal to celebrate their grand opening.

Head of Communications and Marketing for Molly Tea Australia , Orlando Sanpo, said the brand has become a national success as it’s hard to find such luxurious and premium teas in the Australian market, leading excitement to brew for their first Adelaide location.
“When you feel sad or happy, Molly Tea is the space for you to have a “me time” moment … it brings about a confidence in everyone,” shared Orlando.

TikTok has been absolutely flooded with locals spilling the tea on the opening, filming taste tests, their favourite picks and even queue updates. The queue seemed to stretch forever, packed with customers keen to get their first sweet sip. But the most viral moment? That snowy swirl of Jasmine whipped cream on top of their rich yet refreshing milk teas.
The Snowy Jamine Milk Tea, topped with pecans has become a fan favourite along with White Champaca Oolong Milk Tea and Pistachio Jasmine Tea.

But if silky and milky flavours aren’t your cup of tea, there’s still plenty more to discover across the menu. Think floral and fruity refreshers, authentic grassy matcha and coconut-infused brews, each designed with layered flavour profiles and different levels of sweetness to suit your mood.

You’ll notice the Chinese brand draws inspiration from jasmine, weaving the fragrant, oriental flower into both its drinks, aesthetic and even brand mascot, Molly. Molly Tea has gone viral for elevating classic tea culture into something fun and fresh, with a focus on a fluffy and swirly vibe which has helped fuel its popularity all the way to Adelaide.
So clear your calendars, grab your friends and prepare to try your newest obsession, but get in quick before the line gets too long!
