Fringe: Catch Heart-Stopping Acts In Circus Abyssinia’s Ethiopian Dreams

If you need something heart-stopping and exciting, check out the return of Circus Abyssinia at Gluttony.

After a successful run in London and New York, the show is back for the second time at the Fringe with brothers Bibi and Bichu telling their story – Ethiopian Dreams – and how they became highly successful jugglers.

From the streets of Addis Abada to the upcoming Tim Burton version of Dumbo, the two young men began their journey busking at the age of 13 and 14 for crowds in Jimma. Both Bibi and Bichu have filled a gap in Ethiopia that was missing: the circus.

Fate struck a chord for the dynamic duo when they were picked up by one of the first Ethiopian troupes to go to England in 1998.

Twenty years later, Bibi and Bichu are giving back to up and coming performers, through sponsoring performing arts school Circus Wingate in Ethiopia. It is in this show that their story will come full circle.

Circus Abyssinia: Ethiopian Dreams is showcasing at Gluttony from February 15 to March 17. Get your hands on tickets here.
