Fringe Review: Mr Snotbottom’s Stinky Silly Show

Very stinky, very silly, and absolutely unmissable.

Mr Snotbottom’s Stinky Silly Show is everything it’s advertised to be – stinky, and very, very silly. Mark Trenwith, aka Mr Snotbottom, delivers 50 minutes of laughs in his Stinky Silly Show, aimed at the young and young at heart.

The show featured wardrobe malfunctions, snot coming out of bottoms, and plenty of silly and gross sounds, instantly appealing to both kids and adults (I mean, is there any age where farts are no longer funny?). Peppered throughout were original songs with outrageously silly lyrics, performed on ukulele, including a couple of short improvised songs about specific audience members.

Mr Snotbottom knows just how to tickle a kid’s sense of humour, using his relentless physicality, plenty of slapstick humour, and such silliness as a feather duster saxophone. From a parent’s perspective, he also does an admirable job of crowd control. Despite a few kids attempting to upstage with antics of their own, Mr Snotbottom keeps the show under control and manages to smoothly diffuse any potential issues.

For a great afternoon of side-splitting laughter and more than a few fart jokes, Mr Snotbottom’s Stinky Silly Show is a must-see for all ages.
