One of Adelaide’s biggest indoor raceways will host what could be the longest runway in Australia for the inaugural A-Z Files Fashion Awards.

One of Adelaide’s biggest indoor raceways will host what could be the longest runway in Australia for the inaugural A-Z Files Fashion Awards.

Held on April 11 from 7.30pm, the fashion show is being held as a springboard for Australian and international emerging designers to showcase their range to Adelaide consumers, buyers and media.

Models will walk the 300m long racing track, which will act as the runway.

The award is being founded by fashion designer, Stacey Hendrickson, who started Adelaide’s fashion brand, casper+pearl. The brand was sold across Australia and in international stockists such as The Iconic, Nasty Gal, Revolve, and Urban Outfitters, as well as local stockists Birdcage, Sooki and Tuyu, before closing in 2016.

Hendrickson now runs successful modelling agency AZALEA Models and is a fashion editor at A-Z FILES.

“I learnt so much over the six years of running my own brand, and gained so many manufacturing and marketing contacts, all which I have no need for at the moment’. ‘I’m really excited to give young designers this opportunity, and to help them grow and put their mark on the industry,” she said.

‘Something I really struggled with as a young designer was finding a mentor, I kind of had to go in blind and learn from my own mistakes. The industry is very competitive, so asking another designer who their factory is, is a big-no-no.’

On the night of the show, one designer will be awarded as the winner, in which they will win a $1000 cash prize, and a one year mentorship with Hendrickson herself.
