Located in Echunga, which is a charming town surrounded by rolling hills, lush forests, and picturesque vineyards, sits Providence Cottage.
The Airbnb is a fully renovated dairy farm that’s pet-friendly and is just 5 minutes from Hahndorf and a half-hour drive from Adelaide’s CBD.

“When we first bought the property we thought, ‘we can do something really special with this’,” owner Tracie says.
“Before we got the house it was quite run down, so we completely gutted it. Now it’s got everything you possibly need.”
The 2-bedroom property is the perfect combination of country charm and stylish comfort. It boasts a full sized kitchen with all the mod cons, a huge bedroom with a queen size bed and high thread count sheets, a fireplace, and a second guest bedroom.

Perhaps one of the most exciting features is the large claw foot bath with a brass gold tap that sits outside in the completely private outdoor area amongst the beautiful garden.
“The space is really beautiful. It sits on 11 acres so it’s completely private and really stunning. You can sit under the festoon lighting or under a massive old oak tree which makes the perfect dining setting,” Tracie says.

It’s under that oak tree that you could be fed by in-house chef Roger Campbell who can come and make the meal of your dreams.
“Roger put on a feast for us the other night and my mouth was salivating, it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. He went out to Kuitpo Forest and went foraging for the mushrooms that went with chestnuts that he roasted in the oven, and also garlic, thyme, goats curd and paired with apple cider,” Tracie says.

When you arrive on the property you’ll be treated to a complementary bottle of local Adelaide Hills wine and breakfast with local bacon, sausages, eggs, bread and Fleurieu Milk. The owners can also organise a delicious platter and BQQ tray upon request.
They have’t forgotten about the little fur babies you might bring along for your pet-friendly stay either, leaving out dog biscuits as well.
“We love that Providence Cottage is pet-friendly, it’s a point of difference and we find people with animals usually take really good care of the place because they want to come back,” Tracie says.
“I worked in animal health for over 18 years and we’ve got 4 dogs of our own, two sheep and an alpaca that wears a Swarovski collar. We’re just both animal crazy,” Tracie laughs.
The property just the perfect place for both long and shorter stays. It’s got such a relaxing vibe with books, jigsaw puzzles and a stunning view for your morning coffee looking out at the horses that live across the road. You’ll no doubt feel revived after any length of stay.
