Lovers of modern Asian fare have an exciting new venue to try out in Henley Beach, with the sister restaurant of popular Asian eatery Gondola Gondola opening today!
Opened in the former 50SixOne premises on Seaview Road, the new venue, named Blue Rose showcases a series of colorful, abstract interior fixtures, whilst careful not to reveal much about what guests will be able to expect from the new restaurant, until their opening today.
Owner Annie Tran revealed that the restaurant is an extension of their popular sister venue Gondola Gondola whose menu features a strong Vietnamese-influenced menu, but with new venture Blue Rose including more Chinese and Taiwanese influences in its delicious cuisine.
Blue Rose joins the vibrant foodie scene emerging at Henley Beach, adding to the buzzing atmosphere and international flavour of Henley Square, home to Adelaide favourites including Swedish Tarts, Estia Restaurant and Mia Margarita.
Blue Rose is occupying the previous home of 50SixOne, the dessert chains that were frequently featured on Instagram feeds across Adelaide, were well known for their calorific creations including milkshakes piled high with fairy floss, Tim Tams, brownies and cookies, with the chain also owning venues in Hyde Park and Prospect.
Having gone into liquidation in February last year, the team behind Gondola Gondola purchased the site for the opening of their sister restaurant in April 2021.
Asian food aficionados will feel in safe hands with the team behind the new venue, with Peel Street’s Gondola Gondola famed for being one of Adelaide’s top Asian eateries, particularly loved for their mouth-watering chicken and corn dumpling and incredible cocktails, which have been revealed to be a feature on the Blue Rose menu.
