Two of Adelaide’s best songwriters and performers; one, Kaurna Cronin, expanding his fan base and crafting new and exciting music; the other, Myles Mayo, much heralded singer/songwriter with Special Patrol and signed to Mushroom Publishing, on the same bill at the acoustically perfect Trinity Sessions, set in a church just south of the city.

Kaurna Cronin combines energetic folk with contemporary sounds and a natural ability to capture & entertain. After being awarded Best Acoustic Act at the Fowlers Live Music Awards and being named as one of Rip It Up Magazines ‘Hot Six’ acts for 2013 Kaurna was invited to grace the stage at Australia’s Festival Of The Sun, Fleurieu Folk Festival, Nannup Music Festival and Germany’s StadtFest and Breminale while also performing at Clipsal 500 and Fringe Festival in 2012,2013 and 2014. Kaurna Cronin and his touring ensemble of troubadours give you edgy harmonica, country jams and ethereal vocal harmonies to boot.
Kaurna captures a glimpse of Australian nostalgia and darts forward with a unique contemporary folk edge, a true individual folk talent with sounds resonant of Australian suburbia and strange love encounters.
2013 saw Kaurna Cronin’s single release Run Boy quickly gain rotation on Triple J’s Home & Hosed with Dom Alessio as well as on Sarah Howell’s Roots N’ All.
Early 2014 saw the release of his latest single Goodbye To You, a tale of strange love encounters filled with Australian nostalgia. This release was celebrated with a sold-out launch and a National Tour as well as a 50+ date European Tour throughout June/July. Kaurna has just returned fromByronBay where he began recordings for his upcoming album set for release in 2015 which will see his return to U.K,Europe and includes performances inCanada and U.S.

Myles Mayo’s main history was with Special Patrol. He wrote the songs, played guitar and sang for this band. They recorded three full length albums and a number of EPs and singles.

Special Patrol toured Australiaover a period of six years and played many of the great Australian festivals and venues. Touring highlights include Falls Festival main stage 2006 and 2008, Big Day Out, Clipsal 500 After Race Concert with Powderfinger, Woodford Festival as well as tours and/or shows with Ben Kweller (USA), Paul Weller (UK), The Mountain Goats (USA), Maximo Park (UK), The Bees (UK), Idlewild (UK), Turin Brakes (UK), Donovan Frankenreiter (USA), Evermore (NZ), Paul Kelly, The Whitlam’s, Pete Murray, The Church, Little Birdy.

In recent years Myles has expanded his solo work and songwriting, capitalising on his Mushroom Publishing links with a publishing deal in the US. His two solo albums, one self titled and the second Myles Mayo and The Modern Heart, have continued his storytelling with loads of quirky, emotive songs that capture fleeting moments from Myles past and present and somehow they become your stories and part of your life. His songs hit on a very real level, his observations are familiar scenes, those of personal triumph and tragedy, playing out like a video jukebox of shame or glory or both.

Not content to sit still he has a new project with some friends, including Caitlin Harnett, called Big Friendly Giant whose song Stepstone has been listed on Double J’s best new music alongside Belle and Sebastian, The Basics and Kate Tempest.
