The International Kite Festival is ahead of the game and already locked in for Easter long weekend in 2023.

Plan ahead and save the date to watch the sky shine with the bright colours and funky patterns of kites in all different shapes and sizes.

The festival will be held from Saturday the 8th of April to Monday the 10th of April 2023.

What’s better? Well, it’s located on Semaphore Beach, so you can bring your swimmers along and go for a dip underneath the rainbow of colours.

Established in 1997 and an annual Easter event, it was sadly cancelled this year. This was not an easy decision for the Adelaide Internation Kite Festival organisers, but with the uncertainty of the pandemic restrictions, the decision was made to ensure everyone stays safe.

Everyone is welcome; there are no requirements to be met for entry. This is all-inclusive.

Buckle the kids in the car and make the trip out to the beach. This annual event has over two decades of experience and success.

The kids are bound to love it! You could make a whole day of it, plan a picnic on the beach, or get some fish and chips to share, because what’s a beach trip without some freshly deep-fried fish and chips.

There is no mistaking, the Banks family and Mary Poppins knew what a fun time was, so be inspired and with your feet on the ground and your fist holding tight, let’s go fly a kite up to the highest height.

You are welcome to bring your kite along or find one that catches your eye at the festival and purchase one on the day.

Let’s hope for a sunny Easter in 2023 with a bit of a breeze to get those kites up in the air and dancing about!
