Lovers Electric’s Royal Connection

Hot off the back of their recent national tour, Adelaide pop duo Lovers Electric – husband and wife David Turley and Eden Boucherare releasing a track with royal connections as the second single from their new album 'Impossible Dreams'.

'Love Can Save Us' propelled the duo to star status around their European base in Germany earlier this year when it was selected to be the theme song to the German broadcast of the British Royal Wedding – the track regularly played throughout the occasion and in the pre-promotion of the broadcast.

The first actual duet that the pair has recorded, the track began as a piano-only song composed and sung by David but evolved in the recording studio to include vocals from Eden and a more layered accompaniment. In contrast to the more melancholic first single 'Beating Like a Drum', the new track is an upbeat tribute to the power of love, inspired by their own experiences, married at just 19 and having been inseparable since.

Lovers Electric burst onto the Australian music scene in 2008 with their electro-influenced debut album, 'Whatever You Want'. With infectious tunes and a fashionable edge that combined their Australian roots with their European base, they developed a widespread fan base, spending 18-months in Australia to promote the record. Straight after, they began writing more material and relocated to Germany where they recorded 'Impossible Dreams' at the historic 400-year old Ridge Farm Studio in rural England, the studio where Oasis, White Snake and Queen have laid down records, among others. Reflecting how their art and tastes have evolved, 'Impossible Dreams' has a more organic pop sound, a reflection of their life’s experience over the past three years.
