More than 30 apartments have been proposed among the leafy streets of Adelaide’s south, for those looking to live in the lap of luxury.
According to the report, the development, slated for Belair Road in Kingswood, will accommodate apartment style Independent Living for over 55’s with each apartment equipped with the necessary amenities and are tailored to the needs and lifestyles of older residents.
The retirement focused development offers communal facilities and recreational areas both on the ground floor to provide residents with opportunities for socialising and the opportunity to enjoy the shared amenities.
The 6-level building will house everything from office spaces, a multi-purpose room, a gym along with storage and other services on the ground floor.
Both the first and second floor with comprise 11 dwellings while the fourth will house 4 larger apartments.
The fifth floor will house a common lounge and dining area, meeting room, cellar and store for residents to access.
This state-of-the-art complex boasts a number of balconies for residents looking to bask in the afternoon sun or enjoy a weekend drink with their friends while looking out across Adelaide.
The site will also allow its residents to remain activity within the community, with shops such as Aldi and Cheap as Chips just a short walk away. Residents will also be able to dine in at the Torrens Arms Hotel and Yeah Nah Yeah cafe.
In total, the proposal will comprise 37 dwellings serviced by 59 on-site car parking spaces. Offices spaces will be occupied by Torrens Health, in which staff will also be available to support occupants of the building as needed.
The proposed retirement village expands upon the success of Torrens Health and is intended to allow nearby residents to “age in place”, meaning to downsize from their existing homes into a purpose-built facility owned and operated by Torrens Health.
Torrens Health is an Australian owned and operated company that provides workforce services in
healthcare, aged care and the disability sector.
Torrens Health typically provide General Practitioners, Resident Medical Officers, Senior Medical Officers
and other specialists to hospitals, health consultancies, aged care facilities or to individuals at home
through varying levels of support and their ‘hospital in the home program’.
This is just one of the many exciting new proposals for the area, with another 53 cutting-edge apartments on the drawing board at Woodforde’s Hamilton Hill Precinct.
If you’re on the hunt for a new change of scenery and start enjoying life, this may be the place for you.
