Looking for the perfect family day out? The Adelaide Animal Expo might be just the thing.
The Adelaide Animal Expo gives visitors the chance to see, touch and cuddle hundreds of animals, from family favourites like dogs and cats to Highland cows and even axolotls.
“It’s one of those events that showcases a huge variety of animals,” the team at Adelaide Animal Expo said. “Many of them are animals people might not get to see every day.”
Not only can you meet these friendly animals, but you can also chat with animal breeders and hear some interesting information from animal experts.
There is plenty for the whole family to enjoy. Guests will have the chance to cuddle baby goats, lambs and chickens in the adorable animal nursery, or get up close with reptiles and learn more at the popular reptile demonstrations and seminars.

There are also plenty of shows where you can sit back and enjoy the entertainment.
Dock Dogs Australia is making its first dive into Adelaide, where you can watch a competition between all different breeds, sizes and mixes of dogs as they launch themselves into a giant pool. The Dogs SA Demo Ring is another highlight, showcasing highly trained dogs performing tricks, agility, obedience and even dancing routines.
The South Australian Zebra Finch Club Annual Show is making an appearance at the Adelaide Animal Expo this year, where visitors will be able to see some of the most radiant Zebra Finches in South Australia compete for top titles.
The team from Amrabull Park Heritage Breeds in the Barossa are back for another year with their gorgeous Highland and Belted Galloway cattle, along with some of their breeds of feathered friends.
“The Highland cows are definitely the ones that stick out”

There is a range of unique animals on show at some of the smaller stalls, for people looking for something a bit different.
The Animals Anonymous stall is sure to catch your attention, offering the chance to get up close to Australian wildlife, including small freshwater and saltwater crocodiles, turtles, frogs, frilled-neck lizards and more.
The returning Fleurieu Axolotl stall is always a fan favourite, where you will be able to check out a diverse range of ethically raised axolotls. Visitors can learn about these fascinating ‘Mexican walking fish’, including their colours, diet, lifespan and remarkable ability to regenerate.
If creepy crawlies are more your thing, don’t miss the Bugs n’ Slugs stall, where you can get up close with insects, spiders, lobsters, worms and snails. The team also offers educational programs for all ages and abilities.

Whether you’re a first-time pet owner or already have a house full of furry friends, experienced breeders and handlers will be there ready to answer questions and share advice on caring for your animals.
Not to mention the range of the special pet products that will be available for your purchase at great special show prices that you won’t see again.
There is sure to be something for everyone in the family to do from the range of things to do, see, touch and cuddle, so don’t miss out on the expo this weekend.
