Monarto Zoo reveals plans for Wild Africa glamping accommodation

This exciting development, designed to enhance the zoo experience and boost regional tourism, is set to offer a unique blend of luxury and nature.

In a significant boost to South Australia’s tourism, Safari Park Investments Pty Ltd has proposed the establishment of an innovative glamping tourist accommodation at Monarto Zoo.

This exciting development, designed to enhance the zoo experience and boost regional tourism, is set to offer a unique blend of luxury and nature.

As you arrive at this serene oasis, you’ll be greeted by 20 exquisite glamping tents, each poised on raised platforms, offering panoramic views of the natural surroundings. These tents are more than just a place to sleep; they are a gateway to an extraordinary adventure, where the sounds of the wilderness lull you to sleep under the starlit sky.

The communal guest building, a centerpiece of the accommodation, invites you to indulge in the pleasures of a gourmet restaurant and refreshing plunge pools, all while immersed in the captivating beauty of the African-inspired landscape.

Imagine dining al fresco, surrounded by the soft glow of lanterns, as the distant calls of exotic wildlife enhance the ambiance. This is where luxury meets adventure, creating an unforgettable experience that blends romance with the thrill of the wild.

Spearheaded by Intro Architecture, the project involves the demolition of an existing dwelling and the construction of 20 new glamping tents. This eco-friendly initiative is poised to provide visitors with an immersive wildlife experience, allowing them to witness safari park animals in their natural habitat.

The development plan includes a comprehensive approach to transport, access, and parking, ensuring seamless integration with the local infrastructure.

Over the years, Monarto Zoo has become an increasingly popular tourist attraction, and has well outgrown the existing visitor centre facilities.

Recent additions like the Lions 360 feeding experience, and the giraffe platform, have keep visitors coming back, and there’s plenty more planned for Australia’s largest open-range zoo.

This will form part of the $15.9 development previously announced by Zoos SA.
