ADL Fashion Week

More than 30 fashion events take over Adelaide and North Adelaide for ADL Fashion Week

ADL Fashion Week is back in Adelaide from today, with more than 30 events and five headline runways across the city and North Adelaide until Sunday.

Five days of runways, workshops, film screenings and after-dark parties start in Adelaide today, with more than 30 ADL Fashion Week events running across the city and North Adelaide until Sunday.

Five headline runway shows at Adelaide Town Hall lead the program, which runs from Wednesday, October 7 to Sunday, October 11.

There’s plenty beyond the catwalk too, with workshops, film screenings, retail activations, designer showcases, dining collaborations and after-dark experiences spread across the city centre and North Adelaide.

The festival is delivered by the Adelaide Economic Development Agency, a City of Adelaide subsidiary, and puts South Australian designers and labels alongside established Australian fashion names, industry leaders and fashion personalities.

It opens Wednesday morning with the SAFIA Industry Breakfast at Patina Place, hosted by the board of the South Australian Fashion Industry Association.

The first headline runway is on Thursday night. South Australian Showcase: Threads Between Us brings more than 15 local labels to Adelaide Town Hall at 6:30pm, from emerging talent through to established names.

BY JOHNNY follows at 9pm with A Fashion Homecoming, the Australian label’s first dedicated runway in a decade.

On Friday, Adelaide Town Hall is given over to The Couture Ball at 8:30pm, a night of couture, theatre and spectacle inspired by Lady Elizabeth Smith’s 1887 Fancy Dress Ball. South Australian couturiers will show alongside Australian designers.

Saturday is the busiest day of the week. It starts at 11am with Viktoria & Woods X Christian Kimber – The Sartorialists, a dual runway bringing two Melbourne fashion houses to Adelaide.

From 12:30pm to 2:30pm, The Archive Podcast goes live in Rundle Mall, with hosts Lana Wilkinson and Rozalia Russian talking fashion, style and life beyond the feed.

The Wolf Gang closes the Town Hall program at 3pm with its first large-scale solo runway, marking 10 years of colour and creativity.

The last event on the calendar is the SA Style Wrap Party at Hotel Alba on Sunday, from 3pm to 6pm, where guests channel Slim Aarons over Mediterranean food, drinks and a DJ by the pool.

Tickets and the full program of more than 30 events are on the ADL Fashion Week website.
