New Comedy Night Launches at Rhino Room

mickeydpicProject Wednesday, Codename: Rhino is not your average open mic night. Host and local Fringe favourite Mickey D describes the new weekly event at the Rhino Room, which starts on October 13, as “Fight Club for comedians. Minus that exclusive ‘first rule’… and the fighting.”

Do you want to try your hand at stand-up, practice your material, build a following – or just want more stagetime? Everyone is welcome. To qualify, bring three paying guests and sign up at the door. Ten slots are available, so it is first come, first served. Sign up opens at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. The running order is drawn from a hat, live on stage, to keep it “fresh, fair and exciting”.

The rules of the Project are:

1. 7.30pm sign up, with three paying guests to qualify.
2. No favouritism.
3. Respect rules 1 and 2.
4. Maximim 5 – 7 minutes on stage. At 5 minutes the lights will flash, at 6 minutes the bell will ring – and at 7 minutes the lights will go down.
5. Have fun!

When: Wednesday nights, beginning 13 October 2010.
Where: Rhino Room, Frome Street, Adelaide.
Time: 7.30pm sign up, 8pm show start.
Price: $10.
