Developed by passionate mountain bike enthusiasts Kristen and Don Norton, who are renowned for their award-winning ‘Under the Mount’ purpose-built accommodation for mountain bikers, this thrilling initiative promises an unforgettable journey for riders of all skill levels.

Known for its incredible trails, the Melrose region and Southern Flinders Ranges offer unparalleled natural beauty that can now be explored at a pace tailored to individual abilities. Kristen Norton emphasized the importance of providing diverse options for riders, stating, “We wanted to give everyone an opportunity to experience this rugged natural beauty in a way and at a pace that suits their own ability.”

‘Beyond the Mount’ takes the guesswork out of trail selection, offering a range of tours led by highly experienced guides who share their local knowledge and ensure a memorable experience filled with country hospitality. Riders can choose between hosted or self-guided tours, with the challenging 6-day Blue Ranges Tour as a highlight for experienced riders. Covering a distance of 352km from Blinman to Melrose along the iconic Mawson Trail, this journey is a true test of endurance.

For those seeking a taste of the Flinders Ranges without the full Mawson Trail, the Highlight Reel tour showcases the region’s best, including the breathtaking Wilpena Pound, Bunyeroo, and Brachina Gorges. The tour culminates with a self-propelled ride to the iconic Cradock Hotel.
