NOW OPEN: Beachside Bagels brings gourmet Reubens & halloumi buns to Henley

The new Beachside Bagels window is set to be dual-purposed: bagels by day, but bar by night. “Create Your Own Bagel” comps are also in the works.

Mia Margarita’s new bagel window, appropriately named Beachside Bagels, is now open and dishing up Henley Beach’s new favourite breakfast/brunch offering.

While we all know and love Mia Margarita as a go-to venue for seaside margaritas and Mexican food, we can now visit the venue for our morning coffees and gourmet bagels.

Beachside Bagels has revealed its nine delicious bagel options, from the classic cream cheese (with a choice of plain, sriracha, blue cheese, dill or cashew cheeses), to options far more colourful! Venue Owner Zac Makins says they’ve received rave reviews since soft launching this week.

“We did a test run on Friday last week and gave bagels away to random patrons. To be honest, we were asking for some critiques. We made a few changes, and we haven’t had any complaint! Many have said they’ve the best bagels they’ve ever had!” says Zac.

Meat lovers may be particularly intrigued by the corned beef bagel, topped with sauerkraut, swiss cheese and Russian dressing, or perhaps the pulled pork bagel with slaw, pickles, and chipotle aioli.

There are also options for your vegetarian and vegan friends, should this become your new catch up spot.

Veggie mates could taste test the halloumi bagel (which sounds to die for) – topped with rocket, avocado, pickled red onion, beetroot aioli – while vegan folks could try the avocado bagel, with sautéed mushrooms, spring onions, caramelised onion relish, and cashew cream cheese.

The introduction of Beachside Bagels is part of a wider square-wide renovation taking shape in Henley, with Blue Rose, Mia Margarita and Ramsgate Hotel all expecting to open new outdoor eating areas.

Once Mia Margarita’s outdoor space is finalised, Venue Owner Zac Makins intends to make the Beachside Bagels window dual-purposed: bagels by day, but bar by night.

“I look on this tenancy waiting for this outdoor area,” says Zac.

“We’re doubling capacity, and bringing that indoor-outdoor dining experience at it really needs. The new square will be a much more functional area where you can enjoy outdoor dining. Much more botanical and less concrete!

“Cut the old venue out of your head, because the menu of Mia Margarita has been redesigned – its a lot bigger now and we’re going to be launching Mexican breakfast in a few weeks with the launch of the new area.”

Zac has also hinted his intentions to introduce “Create Your Own Bagel” competitions. He’s confirmed this is still the plan, with the first potentially rolling out in a few weeks’ time.

Beachside Bagels is now open within the Mia Margarita building at 330 Seaview Rd, Henley Beach SA 5022.
