One road, two amazing food events. King William Road is more than just a shopping destination, it is also one hell of a destination for all of the food lovers out there. With so many restaurants, cafes, pizzerias, coffee shops and even a small bar or two, the strip is a veritable heaven for people like us. You know, the ones who love all things food and wine…
So, let’s just say that April is looking rather tasty as two of the road’s fine venues bring us two very different food events.
First up we have the gem that is The Pot Food & Wine. One of the first venues opened by restaurant genius, Simon Kardachi, who also happens to have Osteria Oggia, Maybe Mae, Bread & Bone (just to name a few) under his very impressive belt. You can read more about Simon in our interview with the man himself here.
But we digress… On April 1 (this is no joke) you would be a fool not to get stuck into their ‘Last Friday of the Month Lunch’. The theme: Seafood. Get a little sea and vines vibe as each course is perfectly matched to a wine. The menu, which talks to us in so many ways, looks a little something like this:
Kingfish Sashimi, Wakame, Mirin, Vietnamese Mint, Lime Sesame
-Chaffey Bros. Dufte Punkt, Eden Valley, SA
SA Sardines in Tomato & Olive Fricassee
-Bodegas Eidosela Albarino, Rias Baixas, Esp
Smoked Pipis & Langoustine, Shoyu Broth, Laver, Togarashi
-Jamsheed Pepe Le Pinot, Pyrenees, VIC
Monkfish, Roasted Pearl Onion, Lardon, Bordelaise Sauce, Tarragon
-Ochota Barrels ‘Fugazi’ Grenache, McLaren Vale, SA

Cost: $95 per person

If you can’t get enough of amazing food and delicious degustations, then don’t stop there… Because also in April is the Light Bulb Cafe‘s monthly Degustation Evening. Walk through that bright blue door and into food heaven as their very talented chef brings you an insanely tasty menu matched with wine/beer.
