If you love the Barossa Medieval Fair in Lyndoch, then we’ve got good news for you. The beloved SA Viking Festival is coming to Victor Harbor this November!

Located at the appropriately-named Warland Reserve, the festival will be home to a range of stallholders, artisans, blacksmiths, knife makers, re-enactment groups, combat, feasting and more.

Whilst the full details haven’t been released, we can only assume it’s going to be just as jam-packed as last year when the Eastway Vikings – a re-enactment community that shares skills and knowledge of Scandinavian and Rus life of the 9th and 10th century – took the helm of the Viking Feast.

To wash down the glorious feast, Thistle Meadery supplied its enticing concoctions, including its Viking Blood, Spiced Vikings Blood, Freya, and Valhalla mead. The Meadery’s new LOKI plum mead also made an appearance.

Alongside the main feast, there were a multitude of stalls and performers to immerse participants in the world of Vikings. This includes a collective of skilled artisans and boats builders, who will be showcasing their new full-scale Nordic longship! Built using mostly traditional tools, labour, and materials, the vessel was completed and named at a traditional naming ceremony in June.

2023 will mark the fourth year for the SA Viking Festival, which is 100 per cent family and pet friendly. The event now spans two days, promising a jam-packed weekend of medieval frivolity.

When: Saturday 4 November & Sunday 5 November (general public)

Where: Warland Reserve, Victor Harbor (near Whale Tail fountain)
