Jacob’s Creek has been named ‘Australia Cabernet Sauvignon Winery of the Year’ at the 2017 New York International Wine Competition for its elegant expressions of the much loved variety.

Contributing to its selection for the prestigious accolade were Double Gold medals for the Jacob’s Creek 2013 Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and 2016 Classic Cabernet Merlot. Cabernet Sauvignon is a full bodied red wine with fine tannin and expressive fruit profiles. Jacob’s Creek winemakers have established their expression of Cabernet Sauvignon as a more approachable drop which the judges at the New York competition clearly appreciated.

“This award is a result of our continued focus on every element of winemaking at Jacob’s Creek which allows us to nurture exceptional Cabernet’s from the vineyard into bottle,” says Ben Bryant, Chief Winemaker for Jacob’s Creek.

“We’ve worked tirelessly over the past 40 years to perfect our style of supple yet vibrant Cabernet Sauvignon that truly reflects our Australian terroir. Critical to this is the high priority we place on selecting the best
grapes in the vineyard, and then respecting the fruit in the winery to express its unique characteristics.”

This competition brought Jacob’s Creek. tally on Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Merlot blends to 597 awards in domestic and international wine shows since its records began the early 1990s. However the famous brand’s expertise extends well beyond Cabernet Sauvignon.
