The Federal Hotel, a long-standing favorite on Semaphore Road since 1866, is poised for an exciting renovation.
Plans submitted by Anthea Perkas and architect Tony Zappia suggest a significant upgrade to this historic establishment.
Central to the renovation is the expansion of the hotel’s accommodation. The number of bedrooms is set to increase from 18 to 22, offering more space for visitors and locals alike. But this expansion is a comprehensive overhaul of the hotel’s interior, touching the ground, mezzanine, and first floor levels.
The Federal Hotel plans to introduce a new bar, dining, and gaming area, aiming to enhance the overall guest experience. These additions are designed to cater to a wide range of tastes, ensuring that the hotel remains a go-to spot for both locals and tourists.
Accessibility improvements are also on the cards, with the installation of a new lift to connect the ground floor to the first-floor accommodation. This addition is a nod to the hotel’s commitment to guest convenience and comfort.
Additionally, a new keg room is part of the plan, indicating an upgrade in the hotel’s service capabilities. Cheers to that.
In terms of aesthetics and privacy, the renovation includes the installation of new screens on the front balcony, offering guests a more private and enjoyable outdoor experience. The hotel’s exterior is also set for a makeover, with repainting works planned for the front of the building.
