The Wholesome Living Store is now open in a new Willaston location as of this Monday.
Owner, Vicki Luke, opened the store last year and it is unmistakable that she has a passion for the environment and for living a conscious lifestyle.
She says, “I have wanted my own business for many years to spread the word and help people access products to make greener choices and help them remove single-use plastics in their life.”
Breaking away from other organic living stores, The Wholesome Living Store is completely plastic-free, and their website encourages customers, “to bring their own containers, jars and bags.”
The store offers customers unique resources which promote a more sustainable and environmentally friendly lifestyle.
This follows on from the announcement from South Australia’s Premier Steven Marshall, that the Liberal Government is planning on becoming the first Australian state with a single-use plastic ban.
There will be new legislation drafted and hopefully introduced to parliament as early as 2020, and the ban will include items such as straws, plastic cutlery, and drink stirrers.
Originally located in her hometown of Freeling, Vicki surveyed her customers earlier this year to find out where most of them were based and discovered that a lot of them were coming from areas in and around Gawler.
Demonstrating a clear understanding of her customer base and their needs, this is when she decided to make the move to the new location in Willaston.
The Wholesome Living Store provides customers with a wide range of food stock including, herbs, spices, grains, flours, fruits, and lentils.
They also have a range of household products, essential oils, soaps, candles and other sustainably living products such as Beeswax lunch wraps and Bamboo toothbrushes.
If you are interested in living more sustainably it’s definitely a great store to check out but make sure to remember your own reusable packaging.
You can find The Wholesome Living Store at 32A Main North Road, Willaston, 5118.
