Some hobbies are bigger than others, and this weekend, one of Adelaide’s smallest is making a big return.

The South Australian Miniature Enthusiasts are bringing their annual Festival of Miniatures back to the Payneham Library Complex in Felixstow on Saturday, August 8th and Sunday, August 9th, inviting visitors to step into a world where tiny details make all the difference.

The two-day festival celebrates the art of miniatures and dollhouses, showcasing incredible craftsmanship that transforms everyday objects into pint-sized works of art. From beautifully decorated dollhouses and meticulously crafted furniture to tiny accessories and collectables, the event offers plenty to admire for both dedicated hobbyists and first-time visitors alike.

If you’re a collector yourself, or simply find yourself fascinated by the level of detail that goes into creating these tiny worlds, the festival is designed to be a welcoming event for all ages. It’s a chance to appreciate the craftsmanship and perhaps even discover a new creative passion.

Throughout the weekend, visitors can browse a range of specialist vendors selling miniatures, dollhouse accessories, handcrafted pieces and hobby supplies, making it the perfect opportunity to pick up something unique or chat with fellow enthusiasts. There will also be raffle prizes and lucky dips adding an extra element of fun, with plenty of opportunities to take home a miniature treasure.

Entry is just $5 for adults, while children under 15 can attend free. Visitors are encouraged to bring cash, as entry, raffle tickets, lucky dips and many of the vendor stalls will be cash only.

Proceeds from the festival are donated to children’s charities supporting South Australian families, meaning every ticket purchased helps make a difference in the local community.

So if you’ve been searching for something to do this weekend, the Festival of Miniatures promises a day filled with creativity, craftsmanship and tiny surprises around every corner.
