A popular Adelaide coffee spot will host a range of vintage items this weekend in a one-day-only market featuring reworked fashion, handmade ceramics, art, and their usual delicious toasties and coffee.
Gilbert Social, sibling to Please Say Please and Unley Social, is a speciality coffee lounge in the southern end of the CBD on Gilbert Street, serving an all-day menu of toasties and sweets.
Now the venue is hosting something completely different with their first ever Gilbert Rumage, a day of fashion, art and trinkets.

Event organiser Tayah told Glam that she has always thought the industrial, vintage vibe of the cafe was perfect for an event like this.
“The crowd that we already have in the café has already been asking if we do markets,” she said.
“I’ve always had the itch to do it.
“We’ve got a good back area for it, so there’s plenty of space, and we can move tables out the front, so that there’s still like seating for the cafe during the day.”
Tayah said that she hopes events like this will bring a new energy to the city as it quietens during the cooler months, and provide a way to “keep fashion alive, sustainably.”
With hundreds of shares on the event’s announcement and plenty of interest, she hopes to develop the event in the future with the possibility of expanding their stall-holder selection.
“We think it will be pretty big compared to what we were first expecting,” she said.
“It’s our first one, and we’d really hope to do this again.”
The market will feature racks of men’s and women’s clothing, as well as handmade art and ceramics, and the usual cafe offerings.
