Amora Hotel Adelaide has officially opened its doors, marking the first stage of a major $73 million redevelopment of one of Victoria Square’s landmark hotel sites.
The hotel’s arrival signals a new chapter for the city property, which has been part of Adelaide’s skyline for more than 40 years. While much of the transformation has taken place behind boarded entrances and construction hoardings, guests can now step inside the first completed stage of the redesign.
The newly unveiled lobby introduces a fresh arrival experience, with a redesigned reception and concierge area setting the tone for the broader hotel redevelopment. The interiors bring together warm timber, soft lighting, curved architectural detailing and statement artwork, creating a contemporary welcome in the heart of the city.
The opening places Amora Hotel Adelaide alongside one of the CBD’s most active precincts, with the Adelaide Central Market, Victoria Square and the wider southern city centre all nearby. The hotel’s relaunch comes as the area continues to evolve, with new hospitality, accommodation and development activity reshaping this part of Adelaide.
In the months ahead, Amora Hotel Adelaide will continue its staged transformation, with Victoria’s Table and a revitalised COAL Cellar + Grill still to be unveiled.
Amora Hotels & Resorts CEO Earp Siriphatrawan said the opening of the lobby and new signage marked an important milestone for the property.
“The building has been part of Adelaide’s skyline and story for over 40 years” Siriphatrawan said.
“Today is about acknowledging the progress made in revitalising this iconic building and sharing that journey with the city. The signage and lobby opening provide an early preview of the transformation as we work towards welcoming guests to the fully completed hotel”.
The full redevelopment is set to continue in stages, with the hotel now offering guests an early look at what’s to come.
