Hosting events can be quite expensive; You might have to consider drink tabs, food, decorations, photography, lighting, entertainment, and corkage, which can all add up. Many venues also charge an additional fee just to set up in their function space, but we’ve found a selection of places in and around Adelaide that take that fee out of the equation.

Here are some venues that have no room hire costs.

Please note: Other conditions may apply, and some of these spaces have minimum spends. Please check the spaces’ websites prior to booking!

Little Red Door & Winston

Little Red Door and Winston are versatile spaces that cater to cocktail parties, corporate events, product launches, film, and photoshoots, all with a large capacity intake of 100 people. Situated on Hindley Street, Little Red Door boasts a central location and an events team that are bound to make your event one to remember. And the best part? The two spaces don’t require a function hire fee and there’s no minimum spend.

Little Red Door and Winston are available for exclusive hire every day of the week, however, popular times and days (Friday and Saturday night) are advised to book well in advance.

The Function, Glenelg

Enjoy the ocean on a private beachfront balcony or have a drink at a private cocktail bar; The Function at Glenelg offers a sophisticated modern space with the capacity to accommodate 200 guests for a variety of special occasions.

Celebrate a birthday, engagement, sporting presentation all the way to corporate events and Christmas parties with a minimum number of 120 guests and the room is yours without an additional charge. However, the space does have a minimum spend that varies depending on the season, so be sure to ask ahead of booking.

Location: Level 3, 4 Colley Terrace, Glenelg.

The Joiners

Looking for a venue to hold your next function? The beer garden at The Joiners is a great spot to host your next event––with no room hire fee.

The Joiners offer a larger number of facilities including a huge seven-foot screen and private bar in addition to flatscreen TVs, heaters, microphones, and more, all to ensure your event is running smoothly. The Joiners beer garden boasts a large capacity limit of 120 guests for a cocktail-style event and 100 guests for a seated event.

Location: 9 Manton St, Hindmarsh.


Nestled on Rundle Street, Distill cocktail bar offers a beautiful backdrop for any celebration. They don’t have a room charge, but they do have a minimum spend over the bar that varies depending on the number of guests. For small parties of 35 or less, the spend is $1,500, below 75 people is $2,000, and below 100 is $2,500. Consult the venue for further pricing.

In addition to the free room hire, Distill has plenty of amenities to take your event to the next level with access to DJs and PA systems, a photographer, catering, and decorations available on request at an additional cost.

Miss Perez Kitchen and Bar

Looking for a function room conveniently located in the Adelaide Hills? Miss Perez has got you covered.

They have two private function rooms located towards the back of the restaurant, offering more privacy and space for large groups, and of course, there is no additional hire charge. They will even offer the whole restaurant if a minimum spend is reached.

Miss Perez has the perfect cozy vibes that you would hope for an Adelaide Hills establishment, making it a perfect option for any time throughout the year, but especially in the winter months.

The Gallery

Needing a smaller venue hire that is suitable for a more intimate affair? Look no further than The Gallery on Waymouth.

You can hire level 1 with zero room hire fees from Tuesday through to Saturday, however, there are minimum spend amounts which differ pending the day of hire.

The room is equipped with an AUX connection for sound, screen, projector, and microphone, and this room can be hired day or night with a 100 standing person capacity.

The area includes a fully functional food and beverage servery, track lighting throughout, and contemporary
art from a range of local artists.

Seafire on the Marina

Seafire on the Marina overlooks the beautiful Marina Pier and has multiple function spaces to suit a whole number of occasions, that boast ocean views and even a private bar.

Choose between either an alfresco garden location or the upstairs private function room, as the perfect space for every occasion from weddings, birthdays or even your next corporate event, with a minimum spend of $2,500.

Glen Ewin Estate

Once the minimum numbers of guests and minimum spend has been reached for a function at the picturesque Glen Ewin estate, any room hire fees are automatically waived, even for weddings. 

The Estate boasts a number of stunning venues for function hire including The Gatehouse which includes a private deck and garden overlooking Glen Ewin’s tranquil pond.
