Your guide to what’s open for dinner on Monday in Adelaide

If you thought everywhere was closed on Monday, think again with a number of Adelaide’s favourite eateries open and waiting for you each week.

It’s notoriously hard to find somewhere that’s open on a Monday night in Adelaide with most of the hospo industry taking a much needed day of rest after a busy weekend.

There are however, quite a few places that are open so we’ve taken the liberty of finding them so you don’t have to!

So, if you’re feeling the Monday blues and just can’t force yourself to go home after work and cook a meal, here’s where to go in the city, hills, beachside and in the suburbs.

Adelaide CBD

2KW

The absolute in rooftop venues in Adelaide, 2KW has you covered for great food and serious booze. Settle in for a cocktail and a view in the outdoor bar areas, or one of the best meals Adelaide has to offer in the restaurant.

Union Hotel

In the knack for some pizza? Union Hotel have you sorted! For just $12 you can grab a 9′ pizza or if you’re a little thirsty, you can grab a pint of beer coming to a nice round total of $20. Can’t argue with that. The Union Hotel will also have their full menu available if you’re after something different than pizza.

Bread & Bone

With a daily changing menu Bread & Bone should be your new CBD destination. Check out their gourmet burgers for an indulgent experience.

Bread & Bone is open 7 days a week for all day dining, doors open from 11:30am. Both bookings and walk-ins welcome.

Hut & Soul

Hut & Soul opened in 1998, as Adelaide’s first Indonesian restaurant. It then merged with Malaysian Cuisine in 2016 to offer an inexpensive peek into the magic of the South East Asian cuisine with carefully selected dishes for your enjoyment. Try the Laksa – it’s a must!

Lady Burra Brewhouse

This traditional brewhouse has a Portuguese twist that’ll spice up your Monday night. Lady Burra also supplies a variety of beers for any occasion and palate.

Market and Meander

This restaurant sits below Hotel Indigo but is open to all, not just guests of the hotel. With a Head Chef hailing from the north of Italy, you can be assured the fresh, modern Italian menu is as good as it gets and almost 90% of the produce is sourced right here in SA. Make sure you try the Blue Swimmer Crab tagliatelle and white chocolate gin tiramisu!

Open Mondays from 6:30am – 9pm.

Osteria Oggi

Walk into Osteria Oggi and see the cobblestoned floor, arches, arbour, meat room, private cellar, intimate booth seating, and a mezzanine-level kitchen. Fresh made pasta and wood smoked slow roasted meats and a matching wine list will brighten up your Monday. Due to current restrictions, sitting times will be capped to 2 hours.

Press* Food and Wine

The Press* menu, created by executive chef Andrew Davies, reflects the changing seasons and incredible produce available to us in South Australia. Their custom char-grill is an integral part of the kitchen & is reflected in our menu. They only use local produce and pretty much everything is done ‘in house’ for your benefit.

Press* are taking reservations for dinner Monday, and all reservations smaller than 7 guests prior to 7:30pm are subject to a 2 hour dining duration.

Shōbōsho

At Shōbōsho they blend smoke, steam, and fire; ancient traditions of Japanese yakitori, with the finesse, skill & texture of all that is raw, cured, pickled and fermented. From a specially-commissioned cooking line consisting of a wood oven, hydraulic grill, rotisserie and customised yakitori pit, the element of fire will speak through simply seasoned, seared meats and vegetables. The menu takes a journey through raw to cooked, with yakitori, noodles, dumplings, bao, robata grilled and spit roasted meats.

While it’s technically not a restaurant, we feel that tasting platters and wine constitute dinner sometimes, so we thought we’d include The Tasting Room on this list.

The Strathmore Hotel

It’s hard to find a more central pub than the Strathmore Hotel and it’s just as hard to find better food deals on a Monday. For just $16 you can grab a yummy burger and enjoy a serious discount on your favourite pints and even snag a $12 Espresso Martini if you really want to get the good vibes going.

Mount Lofty’s Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant

Hardy’s Verandah serves a seasonally changing, 3- to 7-course degustation menu, following the ‘Valley to Verandah’ concept, paired with a multi-award-winning wine selection, sake collection, and creative cocktail menu. Due to the limited number of diners allowed at any given time they recommend booking your table as soon as possible.

HNLY Restaurant and Bar

Oyster Bar Holdfast Shores

Perhaps a more niche option but for those who love oysters then Oyster Bar Holdfast Shores is the place to be. Sourcing all of their oysters from Coffin Bay, absolutely fresh and served in a variety of recipes. Don’t worry though, if you’re not too big a fan, they also offer a load of other seafood dishes so everyone can appreciate dinner by the Marina.

Seafire On The Marina

Adelaide’s home of premium steaks, Seafire overlooks the gorgeous Marina Pier in Glenelg and the passionate chefs work closely with local suppliers to create a menu that showcases beef, poultry and fresh seafood.

Seamore’s

Situated in one of the best beach front locations in all of Adelaide, Seamore’s is a celebration of laid back beach culture. Wind down with stunning panoramic ocean views with a drink in hand and an amazing selection of food. The menu allows for casual grazing, serious dining and easy sharing. The food is a clash of Italian and Australian Surf Club with a focus on doing the basics right. Fresh hand-made pasta, hand-stretched pizzas, crowd-pleasing share plates.

Terra and Sol

The beautifully designed bar and restaurant on Glenelg’s buzzing Jetty Road is a hot spot for both dinner. The space has recently opened their renovated beer garden which is the perfect spot for a warm night.

360 Gradi

Anchovy Bandit

Prospect’s cult classic pizzeria, pasta and cocktail bar is a must-visit for any foodie with the owner turning what was once a whole-in-the-wall cocktail bar into a thriving suburban eatery.

Bombay Bicycle Club

If you’re looking for some British Raj Indian then Bombay Bicycle Club is your call. The beautiful lavishly decorated venue transports you back in time where you can enjoy authentic Indian food in the Rajabar Dining and a more traditional pub grub menu in the Kipling Restaurant. Monday night is Curry night! They have 2 sittings and bookings are essential – 5.30pm out by 7.15pm and 7.30pm onwards.

Raja Bar is open Mondays from 5.30pm.

If all-you-can-eat sushi sounds like your ideal Monday night, then this place is for you! Quality Japanese food and as much as you can eat. There are two locations, one in Glenelg and one in Prospect both of which are open Mondays from 5pm.
