If you’re looking for something a little out of the ordinary this winter, we’ve found just the thing.
Adelaide is about to get delightfully prehistoric, with a herd of inflatable T-Rexes set to stomp, dance and parade through the city for Jurassic June. Hosted by Random Acts of Adelaide, Dino Dash gives locals the chance to zip into a dinosaur suit, pose for a ridiculous photoshoot and join a joyfully silly walk through the streets this weekend.
“Who doesn’t love a dinosaur?” said Belinda from Random Acts of Adelaide.
“It’s something that spans all ages and brings everyone together.”
What began as a quirky idea between two dancers has quickly become one of Adelaide’s most out-of-the-box events since 2024. Dino Dash taps into something that’s not only fun but meaningful. For just a few glorious minutes, adults will forget that they are adults, and their kids will get to see their parents being silly. Not to mention all of the giggly grins from strangers.
“Whether you’re in the suit or whether you’re watching it, it’s just, it really snatches you out of reality.”
The event runs from Friday, 26 June to Sunday, 5 July 2026, with additional parades scheduled throughout July and August.

All participants will be gathering on Charles Street for a check-in and warm-up before getting into their inflatable dinosaur suits. Once everyone is zipped, inflated and ready, the group will then set off on a 30-minute parade through the city.
Throughout their parade, the group will get involved with walking, dancing and just general prehistoric chaos.
The event is best suited for people who are 140cm or taller due to the size of the suits, and comfortable shoes are recommended.
Everything will be supplied: the dinosaur outfits, the soundtrack, the energy, and the hilarity. The only thing participants will need to bring along is a happy spirit and the willingness to embrace the fun.
The event kicks off with a photoshoot, “because, of course,” ensuring everyone has a keepsake before the parade begins and all photos taken throughout the parade will be shared between the group.
Suits are available for hire only, and while tickets are transferable, they’re not refundable. All ticket costs will go towards the Catherine House Foundation, supporting homeless women in South Australia.

Dino Dash is a part of the growing traditions of Jurassic June. A celebration that has quietly embedded itself into the Adelaide event culture.
“We were trying to come up with a way to bring some fun to the winter months.”
Beyond the laughs, Dino Dash has become a sweet reminder of how much joy can come from simple, shared moments between families, friends and strangers.
It’s the kind of light-hearted chaos that Adelaide quietly excels at, really transforming something like Jurassic June into something fun for families. Not to mention the endless memories and laughs that will come from being involved with an event like this.
“The world’s just rushing by so fast that the only way to really slow it down is to sort of make memories.”
Whether you’re there for the laughs, the memories or simply the chance to become a dinosaur for the day, Dino Dash proves that a little silliness can bring a community together and celebrate Jurassic June.
