South Australia’s top three independent fruit and veg retailers have been named, with Adelaide Fresh Morphett Vale once again taking out the state’s top spot.
The family-owned business has been crowned South Australia’s favourite independent fruit and veg store in the 2026 A better choice! Retailer of the Year – People’s Choice Awards, marking its sixth consecutive year at number one.
Adelaide Fresh Morphett Vale claimed the top South Australian ranking ahead of Schinellas in second place and Hahndorf Fruit and Veg Market in third.
More than 45 South Australian stores took part in this year’s awards, with customers voting for their favourites based on quality produce, customer service, product range and community involvement.
As part of the award, Adelaide Fresh Morphett Vale will also reward one lucky customer with a $1,000 shopping voucher to spend in-store, giving back to the community members who supported the business throughout the voting campaign.
Pick a Local, Pick SA! A better choice! Campaign Manager Penny Reidy said the awards highlighted the important role independent fruit and vegetable retailers continue to play across the state.
“Independent fruit and vegetable retailers are more than just places to shop. They support local growers, provide fresh seasonal produce and are often at the heart of their local communities,” Ms Reidy said.
“The strong response to this year’s awards demonstrates just how passionate South Australians are about supporting local family-owned businesses.”

Adelaide Fresh Morphett Vale owner Dino Labbozzetta said he was honoured to receive the award for a sixth consecutive year.
