This year, the Adelaide Fitness Expo is taking its game to the next level. With multiple elite competitions and new additions, the huge 7-hour event will be one like never before.
“Competitions are always the most popular element of our event. So, we’ve taken the hint and in 2022 the expo will become a spectator event first and foremost,” said expo spokesperson Elise Champion.
The shift in focus brings with it a change in venue, as the 2022 event moves to Netball SA Stadium in Mile End, allowing thousands of Adelaide sports and fitness fans the ability to watch elite competitions in grandstand seating over multiple sites across the venue.
In another first for the event, patrons will be able to watch the action with a beer in hand. Adelaide institution, the Beer and BBQ Festival, has teamed up with the expo to provide craft beer bars and mouth-watering food trucks.
With the addition of DJs and interactive exhibits, the 2022 Adelaide Fitness Expo is shaping up to be one of 2022’s most exciting events.
EVENT PROGRAM:
Wrestling
First on the line-up is the Riot City Wrestling AFE Showdown! According to the Adelaide Fitness Expo, this is the first time pro wrestling has ever appeared at a fitness expo anywhere in Australia!
Riot City Wrestling (RCW) is an Australian independent professional wrestling organisation that participates in a variety of festivals like Adelaide Fringe and Supernova, as well as putting on their monthly live shows.
Come down to the full spectacle stadium show, where you’ll witness some “awe-inspiring aerobatics”, “jaw-dropping hard hitting moves”, and even a little bit of comedy.
Bodybuilding
Next, the expo has welcomed back Ms Fitness Australia and Muscle Mania, as they show off some of the best natural bodybuilding athletes in the country.
Judged by their muscularity, condition, symmetry, shape and presentation, men and women put on an awesome show as they try to qualify for the 2022 Fitness Universe event in Miami.
Cross Fit Adelaide
Boasting a new partnership with FitWars, this years expo will be running an elite cross fit competition. Watch as these athletes push their bodies to the absolute limit.
Triathlon SA
Another first for this year’s expo, Triathlon SA will be using Zwift virtual technology to put some of Australia’s best Triathletes to the test!
Hosting a Virtual Stadium Shootout in the style of a Super League Triathlon, triathletes will be completing full duathlon distances on bikes and treadmills for cash prizes.
Strongman
Finally, one of the longest-standing supporters of the expo, Jordan “Biggie” Steffens, will be challenging some of the country’s strongest athletes to perform a spectacle of mind-boggling proportions.
Prepare to have your mind blown as you witness things lifted, pulled and pushed that no average human being could move!
The 2022 Adelaide Fitness Expo will be held on Sunday, May 15th from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Netball SA Stadium, Mile End.
