Italian pizza guide 50 Top Pizza has just unveiled its coveted list for 2025, and South Australia has made the list! Situated on Angas Street in the CBD, this hidden gem pizza place has been serving up authentic Italian slices since 2018.
Est Ovest Caffe and Aperitivo Bar has put its name on the map with a top fifty placing, solidifying its menu as world class. The Adelaide restaurant managed to secure a spot on the list at number 45 on the 50 top Asia-Pacific pizzas for 2025. 50 Top Pizza is an international guide based in Italy that ranks and recognises the world’s best pizzerias.
Ten Australian pizzerias made the exclusive 50 Top Pizza list, with Est Ovest being the first ever South Australian restaurant to be included.

In response to its inclusion in the list, Est Ovest shared on social media on Tuesday, “[This] means we’re not just a top pizza spot in SA or Australia, but among the best across two continents. How big is that?”
“The best part? You don’t have to travel far to taste a pizza that meets global standards. You’ll find it right here in Adelaide, at 111 Angas Street.”
“This award is the result of years of dedication and incredible teamwork. It didn’t come easy, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the people behind the scenes.”
“Most importantly, thank you. You might not think you played a part in this, but you did. Every time you support a local business, you help put us on the map. So now, join us in cheering for our small but mighty team!”
Co-owner Fabio Di Verio said it was exciting to make the top 50, but humbly didn’t want to share too much more than what was in the social media post, letting the inclusion speak for itself.

The restaurant’s menu features an impressive list of pizzas all made in a traditional Italian style by Italian chefs. You can order everything from margherita to capricciosa to pork and fennel sausage and of course the signature Est Ovest. On a beautifully cooked base, you’ll find mushrooms, buffalo ricotta, and Prosciutto di Parma aged for 20 months all topped with truffle oil. The menu also features a generous array of steaks, pastas, sides and even Neapolitan fried pizza balls.
So how did the rest of the list shape up? Claiming top spot was The Pizza Bar on 38th in Tokyo. Owned by Rome local Daniele Cason, just two pizzas are prepared at a time, which are divided into four and served individually to a very limited seating of guests. The first Australian entry appears at number five with Melbourne’s SHOP225 in Pascoe Vale.
