An Adelaide Thai restaurant is having a major moment this month, with Victoria Square’s Thai Room taking home three top titles at Online Dining’s 2026 Australian Dining Awards.
The modern Thai restaurant has been named Best Restaurant in South Australia, Best Thai in South Australia and Dining Experience of the Year in South Australia. Alongside the triple win, Thai Room has also earned a 3 Plate recognition, placing the restaurant among the state’s standout dining destinations.
Since opening in 2023, Thai Room has brought a modern take on Thai dining to Adelaide, combining bold Southeast Asian flavours with careful presentation, warm hospitality and an elevated restaurant experience.
“Winning Best Thai means so much to us, but to then be named Best Restaurant in South Australia and Dining Experience of the Year was something we never expected,” shared owner Kyra Wang.
“Thai Room has been built with so much love, hard work and attention to every little detail, so this recognition really belongs to our entire team.”
The awards recognise the work happening across every part of the restaurant, from the kitchen and chefs creating each dish to the front-of-house team delivering the guest experience. For Thai Room, the focus has always extended beyond what’s on the plate, with food, service, atmosphere and hospitality all playing a role in creating the overall dining experience.
“Restaurants are such a team effort,” said Kyra. “There are so many people behind the scenes who care deeply about what we do every day. These awards are for all of them, and for the customers who continue to come through our doors and support us.”
The celebrations also extend across the group, with Thai Room’s sister venue, Flinders Street’s VON Thai, named a finalist for Best Thai in South Australia. Having both restaurants recognised within the same category is a particularly proud moment for the team, highlighting two different takes on contemporary Thai dining.
While both venues are grounded in Thai food and hospitality, Thai Room takes a more elevated approach to the dining experience, while VON Thai offers its own contemporary and approachable expression of modern Thai cuisine.
As for the Thai Room, the awards acknowledge the full experience the team has worked to create for its guests.
So, with Best Restaurant in South Australia, Best Thai in South Australia and Dining Experience of the Year now added to its accolades, Thai Room has certainly given Adelaide diners another reason to put modern Thai cuisine on their must-try list.
