Adelaide weather forecast for Saturday August 1st and the days ahead

A sunny Saturday will give way to showers, colder winds and frosty mornings as a front moves across South Australia.

For Adelaide, Saturday is shaping up as the pick of the next few days. The city can expect a sunny day and a top of 15 degrees, with light winds later in the afternoon helping keep things fairly pleasant, even if it stays cool.

After a crisp evening, Sunday begins bright enough, but the weather will shift through the day as cloud builds and showers develop in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures are set to lift slightly to 17 degrees before westerly and northwesterly winds move through with the change.

That unsettled spell continues into Monday, with a partly cloudy day and a medium chance of showers, most likely in the morning. Adelaide’s top will slip back to 15 degrees, and a southwesterly breeze will help reinforce the wintry feel.

By Tuesday, things settle again, although it won’t be especially warm. Cloud is expected to hang around, there’s a slight chance of a shower, and the city is forecast to reach 14 degrees.

From midweek, Adelaide should see a run of calmer weather. Wednesday looks partly cloudy with light winds and a top of 16 degrees after a cold start of 6 degrees.

Thursday brings a slightly milder 18 degrees, with only a slight chance of a passing shower.

By Friday, temperatures edge up again to 19 degrees, but the chance of showers increases later in the day as northerly winds freshen.

Beyond Adelaide, the broader South Australian outlook remains dominated by cold mornings, below-average daytime temperatures and a front sweeping across the state through Sunday. Severe morning frost is possible today in parts of the southeast, central parts of the Northern Agricultural Area, and the Pastoral districts, while frost is also expected across the Riverland, Flinders and parts of the Pastoral districts on Sunday morning. Showers are forecast to develop over Eyre Peninsula on Sunday morning before spreading southeast across the Agricultural Areas during the afternoon.

Strong Wind Warning for Saturday 1 August include the South Central Coast.

Frost Warnings are in place for the Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands and Lower South East forecast districts.
