Cheese lovers, rejoice! CheeseFest is back in Adelaide this October 19th and 20th, and it’s going to be bigger and cheesier than ever. Get ready to immerse yourself in a world of cheesy goodness at Rundle Park, Kadlitpina, where South Australia’s finest cheeses, food, and drinks will take centre stage.
This year, CheeseFest is all about sharing the love for cheese and wine. You’ll have the chance to learn a thing or two about these culinary delights from the experts themselves. Kris Lloyd AM, the director of CheeseFest, says, “We want everyone to discover something new about cheese, wine, and the amazing local producers we’re showcasing. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to support our wonderful South Australian community.”
Get ready for some seriously cheesy masterclasses in the RAA Masterclass pavilion, led by experts in partnership with Foodland and the Great Wine Capitals of the World. They’ll be spilling the secrets on how to pair cheese with wine like a pro, with a special focus on international wine regions. Kris Lloyd reminisces, “CheeseFest started as a humble cheese competition back in 2006. This year, we’re staying true to our cheesy roots with over 20 cheese stalls. So, come hungry—there’s no such thing as too much cheese!”
But wait, there’s more! Kris and Mitch Lloyd are putting on a hilarious show called “Cheese – Good, Bad & Ugly,” where they’ll give you the lowdown on cheese quality in a way that’ll have you laughing. And for all you wine enthusiasts, experts from the Australian Wine Research Institute will be sharing their tips on how to pick the perfect bottle.
Back by popular demand, the Foodland Cooking Demonstrations will feature none other than celebrity chef Matt Preston, along with other culinary stars. Get ready to be inspired as they show you how to use cheese to create mouthwatering dishes. Franklin Dos Santos, the CEO of Foodland Supermarkets, says, “The Demo Stage is a fantastic way for us to celebrate South Australia’s finest produce. Supporting local brands is at the heart of what we do.”
With over 80 stalls to explore, you’ll find everything from cheese and wine to gourmet snacks. There’s even a new vegan cheese producer making their debut. And don’t miss the chance to try out delicious cheeses from well-known brands like Barossa Valley Cheese Company, Milawa Cheese, and Udder Delights.
CheeseFest is a family-friendly affair, so bring the kids along! There’s something for everyone, from delicious food and drinks to live music and fun activities for the little ones. Kris Lloyd says, “We hope everyone leaves with new ideas for their next cheese board, wine picks, and a happy cheese-filled belly!”
