Update: The Lights of Lobethal committee have provided a further update that while the actual events such as The Living Nativity and the pageant are cancelled, homes and businesses will still be able to display their lights.
The much-loved Lights of Lobethal have been cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A statement was posted on the Official Lights of Lobethal Facebook page, confirming the cancellation:
“The Lights of Lobethal committee have currently been working hard and obtaining advise from many different sources in regards to how we can hold the 2020 festival.
Unfortunately it is with heavy hearts the committee advises the community that we made the responsible decision to cancel this year’s event
The decision was not made lightly but due to the Covid 19 pandemic our priority is keeping the community safe as possible.
We wish everyone well during this time and look forward hopefully seeing you all at the 2021 event.”
