COMING SOON: Tin Shed Distilling Co to build Distillery and Cellar Door in the Adelaide Hills

The Tin Shed Distillery is planning on expanding into the Adelaide Hills, their proposed location for a working distillery near the small town of Nairne.

Built on spirit, passion and a dream, Tin Shed Distilling Co is dedicated to making the best spirits they can using locally sourced materials and sharing the passion that guides them with everyone.

The powerhouse business is planning on expanding into the Adelaide Hills, their proposed location overlooking the small town of Nairne where they plan on introducing a working distillery with the target of operating as close to carbon neutral as they can and work towards ultimately becoming a sustainable distillery.

Tin Shed Distilling’s Owner Ian Schmidt is confident this new location will put them in the middle of a tourism area.

“With this new site, we get to have a cellar door so we can engage directly with our customer base and share with them the full experience of a whisky distillery, this includes tours, tasting and blending events etc., as well as educational experiences,”.

Bringing gin, whiskey and rum production to the area, the cellar door distillery will run seven days and is set to provide the area with a much-needed space to enjoy good company and great beverages.

The proposed site is not currently as elegant as the distillery is set to be, with the proposed location as the former Chapman’s Meatworks site, there will be plenty of hard work going into the location before it comes to the new go-to spot.

“As part of the build we will be installing an outdoor, concrete deck area that will have hydronic heating utilising the waste heat from the distillery condensers. Customers will be able to sit under the stars sipping a cocktail or a dram of single malt whilst having warm feet, that’s decadent!”.

Guests can look forward to enjoying familiar favourites like ‘INIQUITY’ Whisky at this new venue, the “sinful, immoral, or wicked” whiskey is just one of the brands that the distillery offers, as well as ‘REQUIEM’ Rum and ‘PIOTR’ Vodka.

The distillery plans not only to bring a great new site to the Adelaide Hills but also a great job opportunity for six full-time cellar staff, three production employees and casual production employees.
