Empire of the Sun announce huge 2027 tour with Adelaide show

Australian electronic icons Empire of the Sun are returning to Adelaide in 2027, bringing their new Ask That God: Afterlife Tour to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

Empire of the Sun are bringing their spectacular live show back to Adelaide, announcing a major Australian and New Zealand tour for early 2027.

The Australian electronic duo will bring their Ask That God: Afterlife Tour to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, March 2, as part of a six-date run across Australia and New Zealand.

It will be Empire of the Sun’s largest tour of the region to date and marks the final live instalment of the Ask That God era.

The tour follows the band’s 2024 Ask That God Tour, with the new production set to expand on the world created around their latest album through a reimagined live show.

“Ask That God: Afterlife feels like a tour of unknowns and possibilities — new visions, new plateaus, fragile breakthroughs,” Luke Steele said.

“I think things are going to happen on this tour that have never happened before. We can’t wait to take this music and this tour to new frontiers.”

Empire of the Sun, led by Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore, have become one of Australia’s most internationally recognised electronic acts, known for tracks including Walking on a Dream, We Are the People and Alive, alongside their elaborate costumes and large-scale stage productions.

The 2027 tour will begin at Auckland’s Spark Arena on February 19 before heading to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Adelaide follows on March 2, before the tour wraps up with a homecoming show at Perth’s RAC Arena on March 6.

Frontier Touring members will have first access to tickets through a presale beginning Wednesday, September 16 at 1pm local time.

General public tickets go on sale Friday, September 18 at 2pm local time.
