A brand new luxury sailing experience is making its way to South Australia, with famous luxury maxi yacht ‘Brindabella’ getting ready to cruise towards our shores, to establish its home in Adelaide.
Described as delivering a wider experience than other common charter approaches, the yacht will offer its passengers a delicious gourmet menu with champagne and drinks to boot.
The crews main objective (aside from providing a luxury cruising experience), is to educate its passengers on the history of sailing, as well as sustainability and marine environment best practices.
Its extraordinary size, unique and classic design as well as its unrivalled racing history has given it the reputation of one of Australiaās most loved yachts of the last three decades.
‘Brindabella’ (also known as ‘The Peoples Maxi’) is the country’s most famous maxi yacht, winning Line Honours in the 1997 Sydney to Hobart and coming second place four times, making it a favourite underdog in the event.
It safely boards up to 30 guests, and will be available for day trips around Adelaide, with a focus on a true sailing experience.
Its crew have been spending the last week preparing the yacht for the 1000nm journey to bring the yacht from Sydney to Adelaide, with new owners, Bridid Dighton and Johnny Hilhorst taking it out for a test sail in Sydney Harbour recently.
Following some technical issues, ‘Brindabella’ is expected to set sail for Adelaide tomorrow morning, taking advantage of the clear weather, and is expected to arrive in the gulf of St Vincent by Sunday this week.
