After almost 12 months behind closed doors, one of Adelaide’s most recognisable seaside pubs is preparing to welcome guests back with a fresh new look and a multi-million-dollar transformation under its belt.
Brighton’s iconic Esplanade Hotel has unveiled the first stage of its $11.5 million transformation, revealing a brand-new boutique accommodation offering ahead of the venue’s official reopening later this year.

Set directly opposite Brighton Jetty, the coastal favourite has been completely reimagined while keeping the character and charm that have made it a local institution for years.
The redevelopment has introduced a new 26-room boutique hotel, with bookings now open for the Nightcap at Esplanade Hotel ahead of its first guests arriving in mid-September.
The accommodation features contemporary ensuite rooms, including premium beachfront options. Guests will be able to enjoy a beachside stay complete with modern comforts including King Koil beds, complimentary Wi-Fi, Smart TVs, room service and exclusive dining offers.

“The Esplanade has long been a cornerstone of the Brighton community, and this investment reflects our confidence in both the venue and Brighton’s future as one of Adelaide’s premier coastal destinations,” shared Paul Walton, ALH Group Managing Director.
“This redevelopment unlocks new potential, creating a destination that celebrates the coastline and the energy of Brighton today, while preserving everything locals have always loved about the Esplanade.”

The accommodation is just the first glimpse of the venue’s wider redevelopment, with almost every corner of the historic hotel undergoing a major refresh.
The redesign includes expanded hospitality spaces, new dining and social areas, and a layout that better connects guests with the venue’s unbeatable beachfront location.
Inside, the refreshed spaces will blend coastal style with the building’s historic character, featuring raised ceilings, exposed brickwork and warm natural materials inspired by its seaside location.
“The renewed Esplanade Hotel brings a unique accommodation experience to Adelaide’s coastline,” shared ALH State Manager South Australia Sarah Evan. “Thoughtfully reimagined to celebrate its beachfront setting, it offers sweeping ocean views, and the perfect coastal retreat.”

The redevelopment is also expected to provide a boost for the local community, creating more than 80 new jobs once the transformed venue is fully operational.
With the first stage now revealed and accommodation bookings officially open, locals won’t have to wait much longer to see the next chapter of one of Brighton’s most beloved landmarks.
