Summer is all about getting outdoors and taking advantage of the warm weather while we can. With South Australia enjoying an array of balmy nights and glorious sunsets, Fox Creek Wines has transformed its cellar door into a magical open-air cinema for the summer.
The Fox Creek Wine Summer Series is seeing the winery, nestled in the McLaren Vale wine region, host glittery movies on their pop-up silver screen until January 16.
Each night features two showings – an earlier, family-friendly movie at 6pm and a later showing of classic hits and new releases at 8pm. Showing classics, like Dirty Dancing and Four Weddings and a Funeral, as well as the blockbuster hit A Star is Born, the winery has come alive with outdoor movie magic.
There’s good news if you’re also a cricket aficionado – Fox Creek Wines is showing the Fourth Test of the Ashes on the big screen, so you can watch the Aussies bowl over the Poms while sprawled out on the winery’s lush lawns.
The Summer Series nights are free to enter, and are a guaranteed fun night out for everyone in the family. Bring along your own picnic blankets, low chairs and beanbags, and let the food and beverage experts at Fox Creek Wines handle the rest.
The award-winning winery has opened its Garden Bar to the cinema crowds, slinging tipples of your favourite Fox Creek Wines, as well as a line-up of classic cocktails to enjoy throughout the film.
Feel like straying away from wines and fruity mixes? Fox Creek Wines also produces its own range of boutique crafted gins and beers, which will be available for purchase also.
Tickle your taste buds with a bite to eat from the newly-opened Fox Creek Kitchen, or treat yourself to a grazing charcuterie board, brimming with delicious cheese and meats from local Fleurieu producers. There will also be free kids’ activities on the lawns and live music across the January season.
The open-air cinema Summer Series is the perfect place to recharge, recoup and celebrate the New Year!
